College Football Picks Week 4 Temple @ Bowling Green -28 Bowling Green finally gets a chance to play at home. This has been a rough road for the Falcons but a road that will make them focus no matter who the opponent is. The Falcons will play at an up-tempo game the rest of the year and not show any mercy on whoever they play. Temple is not in a good spot here. They would have been better off if Bowling Green had crushed Boise State. Temple back doored us against Toledo, mainly because Bruce Gradkowski got a bit banged up in the game. The boys from Bowling Green are not banged up and they are ready to put the hammer down. Last year it was 70-10, could be another ugly game like last year.
College Football Picks Week 4 Bowling Green 70 - Temple 7 Bowling Green took the opening kickoff and put together an 11-play, 80-yard drive for a quick 7-0 lead and never looked back. The Falcons stayed up tempo and took out some frustration on the weak Temple defense. The Owls never had a chance and the prediction we had on this game was right on the money. Bowling Green will use this game to get the season turned around. Look for Jacobs to have continued success in the MAC.
College Football Picks Week 4 Air Force/Colorado St. OVER 62 (Thursday Night Game) Air Force stays on the road for another week as they travel to Colorado this week to take on Colorado St. This will be back-to-back Thursday night games for Air Force. Last week, Air Force had no problem staying with Utah. They found themselves down 38-21 and scored 14 unanswered points in the final 5 minutes but still fell short 38-35. The Rams on the other hand destroyed UNR 42-21. Both these teams have offenses that have no problem putting points on the board as you can see in there games from last weekend. Secondly, their defenses have no problems giving up points either. Now granted Colorado St. only gave up 21 points, but UNR’s offense is not very solid right now. If you put solid offenses together along with some so-so defenses, it should lead to a high scoring affair. Both these teams should put up points in the 30’s if not higher. This should be a good OVER. Take the OVER in this Thursday night match-up.
College Football Picks Week 4 Colorado St. 41 Air Force 23 After the first half of this game, everyone was probably questioning this OVER. Even I was wondering what I was thinking about. But after halftime, the offenses decided to come out and play. Still lucky to get the OVER but lucky is sometimes better.
College Football Picks Week 4 Virginia Tech –10 @ West Virginia Virginia Tech travels to West Virginia this week to take on the Mountaineers. This should be a good match up from start to finish. Virginia Tech looks like a national title contender after their destruction of Georgia Tech last weekend. Their offense looked solid with Vick running the helm. Their defense is solid and their special teams is exactly that, special. West Virginia had the week off but 2 weeks ago they struggled to beat Syracuse. Now they were playing at Cuse but still, the Orange are not a real strong team. W.V. won by a last second field goal. For W.V. to keep this game close, they need to play a mistake free game. I just don’t see W.V. playing mistake free. The Hokies have too strong a defense and special teams not to cause some mistakes. The Hokies will come out and put a hurting on W.V. right away and not let go. W.V. will struggle to keep this game close. Take Virginia Tech in this one.
College Football Picks Week 4 Virginia Tech 34 West Virginia 17 The Hokies were out to prove they deserve the number 3 spot in the nation. There have been times in the past where the Hokies have traveled to West Virginia and went home losers. In fact, a few years ago, they played WV ranked number 3 in the nation coming off a 51-7 victory and went home with the big L. The Hokies went home big winners this year. Vick is getting better each week.
College Football Picks Week 4 Washington @ UCLA –21.5 The Bruins have had two weeks to refocus after their huge win against Oklahoma. This is a very dangerous team that is brimming with confidence. They will be able to run and throw the ball with ease this week. Tough spot for Washington to go on the road. The players gave it all they had last week at home against Notre Dame and now must go on the road against a team that has dominated them at home. This is asking way too much for the Huskies and I see this one getting ugly rather quickly.
College Football Picks Week 4 UCLA 21 - Washington 17 The Bruins played like they could take the field and win by just showing up. I thought that with the two weeks off that they would refocus and be ready to play, thinking was a bit off on that one. Bruins get a key come from behind win but the money won went to the Washington backers. Give the Huskies credit for bouncing back from last week and playing tough on the road. UCLA needs to be ready to play every week if it wants to take the next step.
College Football Picks Week 4 USC –16.5 @ Arizona St. The number 1 team in the country travels to Arizona this weekend to take on the Sun Devils of Arizona St. Both teams are coming off road victories against conference foes. What can you say about the Trojans? How good is this team? They showed they are capable of mistakes as we all saw last week against Oregon. But what happened in the second half is what we have come to expect from USC. They are capable of putting the ball in the end zone every time they touch the ball. And Oregon was supposed to be a challenge for USC. The Sun Devils are yet another test in the way of USC trying to 3 peat. The Sun Devils will challenge USC for a bit but then USC will take it up another notch and no body will touch them. Take USC in this one. ASU will keep in close for a bit but not for the whole game.
College Football Picks Week 4 USC 38 Arizona St. 28 USC is a second half team this year. The problem is, they struggle so bad in the first half, they have trouble covering a big spread. The scary part of this game is to see how good USC can be when they play mistake free. Just imagine if they played the whole game like they have the second halves of the past two weeks. But they are not, so they struggle to cover the spread. They almost were able to cover but not this week.
College Football Picks Week 4 Nevada -3.5 @ San Jose State Nevada has not won a game on the road since 2003 when they won three games on the road, one being at San Jose State. The Pack's offense is close to coming together and should be able to move the ball this weekend. The key will be if the defense shows up and take advantage of the weak Spartans’ offense. San Jose is looking at making a switch at the quarterback position. What they really need to do is take a look at making changes in a lot more positions than just one. This team is short on talent and when it finds itself down early this week, the mistakes will kind of snowball into a huge loss at home against Nevada.
College Football Picks Week 4 Nevada 30 - San Jose State 23 Nevada looked like they were going to blow out San Jose State as they raced to a 20-0 lead but the Spartans clawed back and quite honestly could have won this game. Nevada won because of their running game, defense, and clutch play by their quarterback Jeff Rowe. Have not written that about them for a long time. This was a big win for Nevada and broke their road losing streak.
College Football Picks Week 4 Michigan @ Michigan St. -5.5 This instate rivalry this weekend will be found in Michigan as the Wolverines of Michigan play the Spartans of Michigan St. When it comes to instate rivalries this is one game you think of. Doesn’t matter if both teams are ranked or if both teams have no wins this game means a lot to both teams. Michigan St. is coming off a huge victory over Illinois and Michigan is coming off a huge loss against Wisconsin. This will be the difference this weekend. Michigan St. is coming into this game with a bunch of confidence and Michigan is coming in with a lack of confidence and that’s the key. Michigan St. knows they can win this game, Michigan thinks they can. Take the team with the confidence. Take Michigan St.

Michigan St. held tough and made a great comeback. Both teams deserved to win this game. Neither team gave up when the going got tough and that’s what makes college football so exciting. We thought the team with the confidence would win this game but the team that was full of desperation pulled off the victory.
