NFL 4 Hook Washington @ Dallas -6 The Cowboys have owned the Redskins and now come off a great game at San Diego to host a Monday Night Football game against their arch rivals. Coach Parcells has found something that works on the defensive side, remember that San Diego has a very good offense, and Bledsoe is the glue that keeps this team on the right path. If Price ever comes close to reaching his productivity from years past this offense will be very good. The Redskins looked pathetic against a very poor Bear team. I hate to say this but the game might have passed Coach Gibbs. This offense is in trouble with either QB at the helm. The defense is strong but they will have to keep teams under 10 points each week to get the win. Cowboys will hang 27 on them and win comfortably.
Dallas 13 - Washington 14 The Cowboys dominated the game until the final 5 minutes then all hell broke loose. This game will go down as one of the worst loses for me as a bettor that I can ever remember. Credit the defense of the Redskins to keep this close enough to make the incredible comeback possible. Any of the following plays; roughing the passer, the scramble, the dropped interception, and/or the holding call, would have gone the way of the Cowboys and they would have the win and we would have some money in the wallet.
NFL 4 Hook Kansas City @ Oakland +1 Kansas City travels to Oakland this week to take on one of their division rivals this week. Both teams looked impressive in their openers with Kansas City winning at home 27-7 and Oakland losing to the Patriots on Thursday night 30-20. Even though Oakland lost last week, they played the Pats pretty tough. Too many mistakes hurt their chances of making a late game run. Kansas City looked good against the Jets but then again the Jets didn't look good at all. If you just went on looks, you would think K.C. should be the choice but not so fast. Think about whom they played against and how that team played and you'll see that Oakland, even with the loss last week, is the better team. If they can stay away from the turnovers and penalties, this will be a home opening win for the Raiders. Look for the Raiders to play tough and look for Collins and Moss to hook up a couple of times. Take the Raiders.
Kansas City 23 - Oakland 17 Too many penalties in this game cost the Raiders a victory. Some were a bit sketchy though. How about Moss' offensive pass interference in the end zone? That was no pass interference! But we can't blame the refs for one lousy call. The Raiders gave that game away with stupid penalties at stupid times.
NFL 4 Hook Baltimore @ Tennessee +4 The Titans moved up and down the field against the great defense of Pittsburgh in the first half last week in Pittsburgh. They scored a touchdown on their first possession, after two first downs fumbled, missed a 47 yd field goal, and then threw an interception on 2 and 13 from the Pitt 15 yd line. This game was a lot closer than the final score. Baltimore looked pathetic on offense and Manning lit them up in the second half. Some say the Colts defense is better this year; I tend to think that the Ravens offense has not got it going yet. The Titans will only get better every week in Chow's offense, and could possibly win this outright. The line should be 1 or 2 points so bank the 4 in your wallet and get ready to cash your ticket at the window Sunday
Tennessee 25 - Baltimore 10 A good game for the Titans. Last week they got thumped by the Steelers but this week they put a hurting on the Ravens. They moved the ball up and down the field on this so-called super defense. The Titans played well and came out with a lot of confidence even after getting blown out in week 1. That showed a lot of people that this team could surprise quite a few teams.
NFL 3 Hook San Diego @ Denver -2.5 The Broncos are so glad to get the hell out of the heat of Miami. Coach Shanahan will get things corrected before kick off this week against the Chargers. The Broncos have beaten the Chargers 9 out of the last ten times in Denver with 7 of those wins by more than a touchdown. The Chargers looked pretty good last week but you have to win your games at home. They will struggle this week in Denver and be looking at a 0-2 record upon arriving home to play the NY Giants at home. Having Gates back will help but the home field advantage and the great coaching of Shanahan will get us the cover this weekend.
Denver 20 - San Diego 17 The Broncos all but gave the game away. This team is making too many mistakes to be considered a contender. I really thought this would be a breakout year for the Broncos. If they continue to play like this they will be lucky to win 8 games.
NFL 3 Hook St. Louis/Arizona OVER 44.5 St. Louis travels to the Land of the Sun this weekend to take on division foe Arizona. Both teams are looking to rebound from embarrassing losses last week. Both these teams were embarrassed on the road last week. The Niners beat the Rams and the Giants destroyed the Cards. This is a perfect time to hit the OVER. Their opponents manhandled both defenses. The Rams gave up an onside kick and a punt return for a touchdown. The Cards gave up a kickoff return for a touchdown as well. The Rams had quite a few yards of offense but couldn't put the ball in the end zone. This should be an easy OVER. Both defenses are a bit sketchy and the Rams have a strong enough offense to score plenty of points. Warner should be able to pick apart the Rams' secondary if given time.
St. Louis 17 Atlanta 12 Apparently both defenses showed up to play in this game because the offenses sure didn't. Both these teams are capable of putting up 28 points a game. Both offenses are strong. The Cardinals may be a bit sketchy at times but they are capable of putting it in the end zone. Their defenses are where both teams lack anything spectacular. But on this day, when the OVER was needed, neither offense showed up and both defenses played like champs. NFL Football Picks Week 2 to the rest of the football picks.
