Stat of the Week:

Our picks submitted to the Reno Gazette Journal are a perfect 5-0 ATS. This is the same pick that we have started giving you a couple of weeks ago.

San Diego State -9 @ UNLV

We have been sending one of our guaranteed picks to the Reno Gazette Journal to compete in their Handicapping Contest. We are currently 5-0 in these picks.

Since the readers of Reno have been enjoying the information for free we thought that we would send this out to Thehooks Book customers once in a while.

College 3 Hook
San Diego Aztecs -9

The Aztecs offense has finally got it going and should have a field day with the Rebels. Lynell Hamilton will run all over the Reble defense. Kevin O'Connell will be able to spread the ball around through the air.

UNLV is just not a good football team and will struggle this year to get one more win. The Rebels are undefeated this year at home, courtesy of their narrow win against Idaho. The Aztecs are much stronger than Idaho and will win by two touchdowns.

Dr. D's Thoughts And Ponders

This is Dr. D signing in from Thehooks book bringing you a quick glimpse of some football from the past week.

How many people out there have Neil Rackers on their Fantasy Football League? If you do, I’m sure he has won you some games. For those who don’t know who he is, then you must not play fantasy football or you’re pissed he isn’t on your team!

How bad is the University of Pittsburgh? A preseason top 25 team and they haven’t won a game yet! I wonder if it has anything to do with their new coach? I’m going out on a limb and say HELL YES it is!

How good are the Eagles? What a great comeback against the Chiefs last weekend. Most teams would have given up being down by 18 points, but not the Eagles. Plus McNabb is on fire. You can’t stop him, you only hope to contain him and ain’t nobody containing him lately.

Peyton Manning finally found his groove last weekend against the Titans. This week they play the Niners who are average giving up 350 yards passing. If Manning doesn’t get hot last week, the Colts are 10 point favorites instead of 14. Either way it doesn’t matter, Manning might go for 500 yards!

USC got a little bit of a first half scare last week in Tempe. Two weeks in a row they have played like crap in the first half and been losing at halftime. Do you think they are planning it that way to give themselves more of a challenge? It’s like when you were a kid playing basketball with somebody who wasn’t very good and you said, “Ok, I’ll give you a 10-0 lead,” and then in the end you just kick the poor kid’s ass 30-10! That is what USC is doing.

Virginia Tech is showing everyone they need to be considered as a true national championship contender along with Texas and USC.

How about the Chargers? Go into Foxboro and thump and I mean thump the Patriots, stopping their 21 game home winning streak. The Chargers are starting to click again and the Steelers come into town this week. They could take down two powerhouses in back to back weeks. If they do that, they are considered a new powerhouse in the AFC if not the NFL.

As much as I dislike Eli Manning, the kid is having a pretty good year so far. Ok, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit after that comment.

On that note, Dr. D is signing out from Thehooks book. Enjoy the weekend full of football!

Just The Facts:

We submit all our picks to the National Sports Monitor. Sometimes they do not have all our lines but you will find the percentage we have on our site and on their site almost identical.

We submit our TOP plays to the Ultimate Handicapping Challenge and you will only find our top plays there.

The past two weeks we have not submitted enough picks, I thought we only had to submit the top 2 picks. I was wrong, which has kept us out of the top spot in college because we have been tearing it with the college picks. On the other side we get a break because we have struggled with the NFL picks.

We submit most of the picks to Gurutracker but if the lines are different than the National Sports Monitor we will not submit the picks. Percentage should be close.

With that said, we are ranked #3 at the National Sports Monitor for college football and somewhere in the middle for the NFL so far.
