Buy the College Bowl Package
For Only $175

For $175 you get all the picks for each bowl game. We will post a total or pick a side for each game. If we fail to hit 60% then you will receive the entire regular season next year for free.

Okay, I could tell you that we finished the College Football Season #16 at the Ultimate Handicapping Challenge Contest and are currently #28 at the National Sports Monitor for college picks but that would only be telling you half the truth. Quite honestly we have not had a good year. Our NFL picks have been horrible. We have picked it up the past 3 weeks but damn, we just could not pick our ass for about 6 weeks.

With that said, last year our College Bowl Package kicked ass (66%) and I know that we are ready to roll again. We have 30 picks for the Bowl Season and we will win at least 60% or else next year is free.

As a member of Thehooks Book call me (Leo) and I will give this package to you at half cost. So instead of $175, you can have it for only $85. Call me for information at 775-544-9273.

Bengals

Since the readers of Reno have been enjoying the information for free we thought that we would send this out to Thehooks Book customers. We are 10-5 with this pick. In the paper we pushed because the line last week moved to 43.

Cincinnati -8 @ Detroit

The Bengals offense bogged down last week but this week they should be able to get it going indoors at Detroit. The Lions will have no answers for the offense of Cincinnati. Carson Palmer will continue to thrive in the no huddle offense. The Bengals will enjoy the comfort and speed of the indoor field and paste the Lions this weekend.

Cincinnati is an impressive plus 24 in the turnover department and should be able to pad those numbers this week. The Bengal defense should be able to intercept the anemic offense of the Lions and just might outscore the Lion offense on their own.

The Bengals have won 3 road games in row and all three by at least 7 points. Look for them to make it 4 in row this week as they win by more than 2 touchdowns.

Dr. D's Thoughts And Ponders

Welcome to Thoughts and Ponders, I’m your host Dr. D and let’s get straight to the action.

Are the Dolphins for real? First a comeback victory over the Bills and then the surprise upset of the Chargers. Thank goodness they can’t make the playoffs, this could be a team nobody would want to play.

Congrats to Reggie Bush. He deserved the Heisman but Young and Leinart have nothing to be ashamed of.

Vince Young beat out Matt Leinart for First Team All American at the quarterback position? I guess we will have to wait and see on the 4th who is the better QB.

Are the Texans actually trying to lose now? Some of their play off the field is a bit sketchy.

Is Alex Smith really ready to be a starting QB in this league? Dorsey came back and played two games in which the Niners were respectable. In fact, when they played the Seahawks they were one two-point conversion away of taking that game into overtime. Then, they put Smith in and they struggle against the Titans and then get it handed to them 41-3 against the Seahawks last week. Hey NINERS, Smith isn’t ready yet!

How bad were the two prime time NFL games this past week? Lions @ Packers and Saints @ Falcons. Come on, put some games on that people actually care about. Speaking of which, have you seen this week’s Monday night match-up? Packers @ Ravens??? Sign me up for that fun ride!

Was it me or did Saturday not feel the same without college football? It was like a part of me was gone.

I know this isn’t football related (somehow I will make it though), but how good did number 1 Duke look against number 2 Texas in college basketball last weekend? JJ Redick is the Reggie Bush of college basketball. See, told you I could somehow make it football related!

The Steelers finally brought the Bears back down to earth.

The race for the playoffs is on. The AFC race is for the wild card spots while the NFC still have a few divisions left to be won. Look for the next three weeks to be exciting.

We will find out this weekend if the Vikings are for real.

Game of the Week: Chargers @ Colts. The Colts look to go 14-0 while the Chargers try to keep their playoff hopes alive. Two high-powered offenses will lead to many points being scored on the board. Who comes out ahead in this one? You’ll have to watch and see.

Question of the Week: If you could pick the best match-ups in the playoffs, what teams would you pick from each conference?

My playoff team prediction:
AFC: Colts, Bengals, Broncos, Patriots, Steelers, Chargers. Sorry Chiefs and Jags.

NFC: Seahawks, Giants, Bears, Panthers, Bucs, Cowboys. Sorry Falcons and Vikings

Well folks, the holidays are almost upon us which means family and friends, lots of food and drinks, happy celebrations and but of course football. NFL as well as Bowl Season Baby! This is the most wonderful time of the year! This is the Doctor, signing out.
