Once you have the knowledge to make a bet in football you need to manage your money. This is just as important in picking the right games. There are many systems to go off of and you can visit our site and investigate the articles this past summer. I just want to go over a big no-no and that is chasing your money. Let’s use last week as an example and you were one of the smart people and bought our season package. For simplicity you are going to bet $110 to win $100 on each game. We started the college early week package at 4-1. You would have won $400 but lost $110 so you are up $290 after the early week. Last weekend you would have gone 3-2 in college and 4-1 in the NFL for a blistering 70% (7-3). You would have brought in $700 and lost $330 so a profit of $370. After 15 picks for $100 you would have brought back in $660 so far with 70 more picks to come. Not a bad investment, if I don’t say so myself. BUT on Sunday you are pissed off that the Ravens sucked ass and you want to increase your money, you become greedy. You have the over on Sunday Night, which was a winner, but you decide to bet Kansas City +3 points because we have them as one of our picks for the Hilton Contest. Stop right there! What the hell are you thinking? Our top picks are on our site, not at the Hilton. Yes we lost the damn Ravens game but it will not be our last lost of the year. Stay FOCUSED! Do not get greedy. But you do not listen and triple your wager ($330) on Kansas City. Boom, you just lost half of your profits in one stupid, greedy move. You cannot chase money or bet on your feelings. Pick a system and stay with it. Take our free picks and the Hilton picks and play around with small change on parlay cards. Use our Guaranteed Picks with straight bets and stay focused for the year.

Lesson to be learned:

Baltimore Ravens change their name to the BADtimore Ravens!

How can a team like the Ravens come out and get skunked by the Browns? The Ravens are a team that is looking at the Super Bowl as their main goal this season but instead should be looking at the end zone as their main goal. How do you not score a touchdown against the Browns? 3 points! Ravens cannot rely on their defense to win them games all the time. They have done that for years and if they keep doing it, the defense might as well start playing offense as well. I could see Ray Lewis playing QB. Jamal Lewis looked like a 3rd string halfback running for a dismal 57 yards. Kyle Boller is not the QB for this team. Put in Kordell Stewart, see if he can get his team a touchdown. Hell, put Prime Time in and see if he can get a touchdown. They play Pittsburgh this week; they might not score a touchdown this week either. Until the Ravens score a touchdown, I’m calling them the BADtimore Ravens!

Game of the Week: Colts at Titans

This is the game of the week by far. These two teams have been rivals for a few years now. The best part of this rivalry, these teams are good! Both are usually playoff teams and this year both have reigning MVP’s leading their offenses. Peyton Manning wants his team in the Super Bowl this year and no team is standing in his way. They were beat by last year’s champions Patriots and Indy does not want to start off 0-2. Titans are out to prove that Indy isn’t the only team in the AFC South that is a Super Bowl contender. A lot of people are overlooking the Titans this year. The only team people are talking about out of that division is Indy and the Titans are pissed! Both teams are out to prove something to themselves, the league, as well as the fans. Look for this game to be a shoot out and a great game to watch.

2. Are the Detroit Lions for real?
3. Michael Vick and the West Coast Offense: Good or Bad mix?
4. The sleeper teams of the NFL and College Football Seasons?
5. Are the Patriots the best team in the NFL?

The Cowboys let us down last week when they decided to quit playing defense and gave up a back door cover. If not for the last few minutes last week this might have been in our top 5. Only stat you need to know. Oklahoma State 104 – SMU 22 the combined scores the last 2 years.

Nebraska –3.5 @ Pittsburgh
Cornhuskers look to right the ship against a Pittsburgh team that is not ready for prime time. The Panthers are in over their heads and the Huskers look to get back on track. If not, there might be some Bring Back Solich signs going up in Lincoln.

South Carolina –13.5 @ South Florida
South Carolina lost a heartbreaker to Georgia last week in which they could have easily won. South Florida comes to town this week and the Gamecocks want blood. Lou Holtz will have his team fired up and have last week’s game behind them. Usually the Georgia game fires up the Gamecocks and they come out the next game and put a hurting on the opposing team…. look for that trend to continue.

NFL Free Picks
Denver @ Jacksonville +3
Jacksonville catches Denver at the right time this week. Both teams will run the ball 65% of the time and the game will shorten which is exactly what DEL Rio wants. He thrives in close games and his team believes in his system. The game will come down to a field goal, so take the 3 and watch some smash mouth football. If Denver tries to throw the ball, the chiefs will not be on the other side defending. Their will be a very good defense waiting for the PLUMBER to throw them some ---- passes their way.

Houston @ Detroit -3
Detroit is home and they are undefeated on the road. What the hell is going on around here? Rodgers will be missed but the Mooch will rally his team around him and get them ready for their home opener. The Texans thought they would be 1-0 right now but they found out that they will not be able to sneak up on anybody this year. Lions in a close game.

New England –7.5 @ Arizona
Both teams played in squeakers last week. New England really should have lost against the Colts and Arizona in reality should have beaten the Rams. This week however, the Pats look to dominate and prove they are the team to beat in the AFC and the NFL and put a hurting on Arizona. Arizona looked good against the Rams but won’t look good against the Pats, as the Pats will thrive in the desert.
