Oregon State/Hawaii Over 71.5

Oregon State has scored over 30 points 4 of the last 5 games and now gets to rev up the offense against a defense ranked 95th in the nation. On the other side you have Colt 4 TD passes short of breaking the season record of 54 TD passes. Hawaii has scored over 40 points in every game since the opener in Alabama.

Both teams are locked in their bowl destinations. As expected Hawaii is loaded with local talent but did you know that Oregon State has over a dozen players from the Island on their roster? This game will have a lot to do with who wins the recruiting war on the Island.

If Purdue, with no motivation, can light up the scoreboard (Purdue went 30-of-43 for 382 yards with five touchdown passes) you know Oregon State will be looking to impress the locals in what should be the most entertaining game of the weekend. When it is all said and done this game might go over 100 points.

Thoughts and Ponders:

The Doctor and Thehooks book welcome you to another edition of Thoughts and Ponders. We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed all the football. Now sit back and relax and let the soothing sounds of the Doctor’s rants take you away.

Conference Title Games week. That just means we are just that much closer to the Bowl Games.

Which is the best conference title game this week? Florida vs Arkansas has to be it. But the G.T vs Wake will be good as will Okla vs. Neb. All should be close games.

Can Hawaii QB Brennan break David Klingler’s NCAA season-record of 54 TD passes? He only needs 4! He could get that in the first half.

Talk about over looking a team. West Virginia 3 TD favorites over South Florida at home and they lose! Do you think they had their mind set on the Rutgers game this week?

Army vs. Navy this week. Remember when this game was a good one? Now Navy wins by 30 everytime. That’s not that exciting. Well, I guess it is if you are a Navy fan.

Can you believe that Stanford has only scored 3 offensive touchdowns since September? They won a game in that span too. They scored 20 points. Wow!

Can UCLA beat USC?

USC put a hurting on Notre Dame last week. They showed the nation they deserve the right to play Ohio St. They have to get by UCLA this week for that to happen so no overlooking I’m sure. (Take note West Virginia).

What the hell has happened to the Steelers?

How about the Ravens?

The Charger’s are averaging 30 something points a game but they struggle and barely squeak out a victory over the hapless Raiders. That’s why they call it a Rivalry Game.

Giants tailspin is growing and now the finger pointing is starting to happen. NY fans may not get a playoff team this year.

Were any of the games on Thanksgiving exciting?

Will L.T. break Alexander’s TD record?

Speaking of Alexander, do you think Seattle was happy to have him back on Monday night? 201 yards proves to the league he is back to 100% health.

9 turnovers in the New England/Chicago game last week. There were more turnovers than the Steelers and Browns had points combined! Well, in fact if there was only one turnover in that game, that was still more than those two teams had combined.

One more turnover line. They had more turnovers in that game than Stanford has offensive touchdowns all year! Don’t know if that’s true but it’s pretty damn close.

Can USC beat Ohio St?

Boise St proved they deserve a BSC bid thumping Nevada. Nevada pulled a Stanford scoring their only TD on defense and only managing 4 first downs. Stanford would probably have 2 wins if they played Nevada last week.

Well folks, the Doctor is out of rants for the week. Enjoy the conference title games as well as some good NFL this week. Until next week, this is the Doctor, signing out.
