Doctor D and Thehooks book welcome you to the Christmas edition of Thoughts and Ponders. Sit back, grab some eggnog and enjoy the rants of the Doctor.
Can you believe what L.T. is doing to the record books? He is totally rewriting them and making them hard to break!
L.T. has 31 TD’s. 31! 28 rushing touchdowns, and 3 receiving. Let’s not forget that he has also thrown 2 touchdowns as well. So if you really want to get technical, he has been involved in 33 San Diego touchdowns.
Thursday Night could be Brett Favre’s last home game. One more Leap or will we see him next year?
T.O. is involved in another incident. A spitting incident, this time with DeAngelo Hall. Talk about someone who just cries out for attention. Tony Romo must be getting too much press and T.O. is getting jealous.
Speaking of Tony Romo, does he really deserve a Pro Bowl nod?
People are talking like the NFL MVP race is a close one between Brees and L.T. Are you kidding me? This should be more lopsided than the Heisman!
Defensive Player of the Year should be a good one though. Taylor and Merriman both deserve it. Do you give to the guy whose team is going to the playoffs or will you look at stats to get the winner.
Do you think the 4 game-suspension will persuade any voters?
Who’s worse: Raiders or Lions? Raiders have no offense but an ok defense. The Lions have neither and an assistant coach that likes to drink and drive naked. I was going to say the Lions are worse but the whole coach thing has to give them a few points!
If half the bowl games are like the TCU-Northern Illinois game, this bowl season is going to suck!
Can you believe the 49ers are still in the playoff hunt? In fact, if they win out and the Seahawks lose out, the Niners win the division.
Who would have thought the Saints would be division winners at the beginning of the year?
Who thought Phillip Rivers would be this good right out of the gate?
Who thought Drew Brees would be leading the NFL in passing yards and second in TD passes?
It’s hard to imagine that Peyton Manning leads the league in TD passes this year with 26. Just think, it was just a few years ago he was throwing for 50!
BYU vs. Oregon…looks good on paper, let’s see how it ends up.
Congrats to Jim Grobe of Wake Forest for winning the AP Coach of the Year. Who would have thought Wake Forest would be playing in the Orange Bowl?
I just realized that in my last 6 thoughts, 4 of them have “Who would have thought” in them. Apparently, I am shocked by some events, and I’m hoping the readers are too!
Vince Young Rookie of the Year? Reggie Bush?
Do you realize that in the NFC the two leading receivers reception wise is Reggie Bush and Stephen Jackson? And in the Top 10 of the NFC there are 3 running backs to zero in the Top 10 in the AFC? I thought there was a point to this rant, but apparently, there is not.
1 bowl game down, 31 to go.
