Louisiana Tech @ Clemson -34

Clemson has hammered two weaker opponents, beat a decent Florida State team and lost a heart breaker in OT to Boston College. LA Tech would fall into the weaker opponent department and will have no answers for the dominant offense of Clemson.

Even though LA Tech has played Texas A&M and Nebraska they have not seen speed like the Clemson Tigers will bring on defense. This is a total mismatch and Clemson will be able to name the score. LA Tech has Boise State on deck. After the clobbering they took last week against Texas A & M they will be looking to survive and collect their paycheck this week and then get try to get ready for the WAC opener which is on the Blue Turf.

Don't expect a let down from Clemson, they did not have one after beating FLA ST. They will rush for over 300 yards and might just shut out the young offense of LA Tech.

Dr. D and Thehooks Book welcomes you to yet another addition to Thoughts and Ponders.

T.O.?????? Cry for help or a cry for attention???? I'm going with the second one.

What, is the media not talking about him enough? This is a guy that no matter what game you are watching whether it's on the east coast, west coast, pre-season, post season, off season, somewhere, somehow, T.O. will be mentioned.

My favorite part of it all is his publicist's comment: "Terrell has 25 million reasons why he should be alive." She was referring to his 25 million dollar contract. What? Excuse me? That's the only reason why he should be alive? What about family? No? Ok, how about friends? No? How about the love of life? No? Love of the game? No? Puppy dogs? No? Ok, I guess than it just has to be about the money.

I don't know who is more of a nut job, Terrell Owens, his publicist or the back-up kicker who stabbed the starter in the leg? Wow, that would be one hell of a question on ESPN or something. I betcha The Best Damn Sports Show or Leno or Letterman would love that question answered. I want it answered. I say we make this a poll.

Down 37-14 at halftime and Notre Dame comes back and wins 40-37...WOW....enough said.

Well, I do have something to say about that game. Was it me or did Michigan St decide to stop playing aggressive?

The Madden Curse grabs yet another victim as Alexander is out for at least two weeks.

Congrats to Brett Favre and his 400th TD pass. Another congrats goes out to Brett and his Packers for actually winning a game.

How about the Saints on Monday night? Unbelievable!!!! The City of New Orleans was jumping for joy before, during and after the game. Congrats!

That Monday night game had the feel of the Super Bowl.

Leinart? Warner? Make a decision please. First you say Leinart is going to start and then later on that night you retract your statement and say Warner is starting. This is why the Cards struggle year after year, inconsistency and confusion.

Penn St is better than people think. Minus the cheap TD's at the end by Ohio St, the game was 14-6. Yeah Notre Dame thumped them but Penn St made some stupid mistakes that game.

Rivalry games this weekend: Michigan vs Minnesota for the Little Brown Jug and Nevada vs UNLV for the Cannon. What color will the cannon be this year? Blue and Grey? or Red?

The Texans are back looking like the laughing stock of the NFL again. And the first pick in the draft the Texans take....hmmm, think they would go back and rethink their decision???

The Pats dynasty coming to a halt? They just don't look like the same team anymore. But don't overlook them quite yet. I'm sure the Bengals aren't doing that this week.

The Bengals on the other hand might be becoming a dynasty.

Best teams in the NFC battle this weekend when Seattle travels to Chicago. My co-host on my radio show, The Capitan, told me the Bears are for real, so I'm going to believe him, he's a big man!

Is anyone going to watch the Browns vs. the Raiders this weekend? Any takers?

Best wishes go out to Chris Simms and his family and hope for a speedy recovery.

My heart goes out to the family of Byron Nelson after his passing a few days ago. I know this is about football but when it comes to golf, Byron Nelson was a god!

Game of the Week: Bengals vs. Pats. Pats don't lose two in a row too often and the Bengals are out to prove they are the new team to beat in the AFC. Let’s not forget about Indy! Close second would be Ravens vs. Chargers. Two of the best defenses in the league go head to head. Hey Philip, this game will be a wake up call. You've played two teams in Oakland and Tennessee that can't stop a pee-wee team from scoring. Baltimore’s secondary is just a tad bit better! Good luck!
