Dr. D's Thoughts and Ponders:

THOUGHTS AND PONDERS:

Welcome back to yet another edition of Thoughts and Ponders. I'm the Doctor, and I'll be your host through all the questions and rants. Enough about me, let's move on to the good stuff. Enjoy

Just to let you know, Appalachian St won again last week. They were up by 38 at half. So much for a "letdown."

All the seniors that came back to Michigan are probably kicking themselves right now. Henne especially. He is out 2-3 weeks with a knee problem. Not a good thing when you have pro scouts looking at you.

Michigan is 0-2 after getting pounded by Oregon. At home even! The only bright spot on that Michigan team is Mike Hart. He is the heart and soul of that team and deep down I hope Michigan turns it around for him.

Scary part is Michigan can still win the Big 10!

Notre Dame is 0-2 as well. Two storied programs winless. Well, that will end for one team this weekend when they meet each other. I'm going with Michigan.

Oklahoma destroyed Miami last weekend. I know it's not the same Miami team of old but Oklahoma put up 51 points on them. They are averaging 65ppg with a red shirt freshman behind center. Wow. This team could be one to look out for.

Speaking of a team to look out for, what about Florida? Is it me or are they just flying under the radar and nobody is really talking about them?

Is Virginia Tech not that good or is LSU just that good?

Louisville sure can put up points but I think a 9 year old pee-wee football team could score on their defense. If you are giving up 42 points to Middle Tennessee St, what the hell is going to happen when you play West Virginia and Rutgers?

I think Washington can beat Ohio St this week.

Colt Brennan has 10 touchdown passes already. My prediction: He will have 24 touchdown passes by the beginning of October.

Randy Moss has lost a step? Moss just isn't the same player as he was a few years ago? Ask the Jets if they believe that B.S.

You have to remember, Moss hasn't had a QB to throw him a ball since he played in Minnesota. Now he has Brady and that first week, they looked in sync a little bit don't you think? 9 catches. 183 yards. 1 touchdown. That's ok.

Don't want to be a quarterback in Cleveland. If you have a bad half, not only to you get benched for the second half, they trade you ass 2 days later. Good Luck Mr. Quinn.

The Lions' offense looked good on Sunday. I know they were playing the Raiders but remember, the Raiders were supposed to have a good defense.

Calvin Johnson is the real deal.

JaMarcus Russell...thanks for taking time to finally sign your contract.

Falcons fans...get used to struggling this year. Joey Harrington isn't a bad quarterback, but he is not a winner...well your other starting quarterback isn't a winner either, but that is in the field of life. Harrington just doesn't win on the football field.

How bad are the Chiefs? Take Trent Green away and the offense disappears. That can't be because the Dolphins didn't score much either.

Think the Rams are kicking themselves for not playing Stephen Jackson in the preseason? 2 fumbles. Nice.

Congrats to Bret Favre on tying Elway for the most QB wins. That will be one of a few records that will be broken this year.

The Colts look like the real deal this year. Better than last year? We will have to wait and see.

Games of the Week: In college it has to be Florida vs. Tennessee. Last year it would have been Michigan vs Notre Dame but not this year. In the NFL it most definitely has to be New England vs. San Diego. If the Chargers can find their offense, this game could get high scoring.

Enjoy the weekend of football. Until next week, this is the Doctor, signing out!!!
