Quote of the Week:

The game of life is a lot like football. You have to tackle your problems, block your fears, and score your points when you get the opportunity. --Unknown

The Parlay Card

Ever wanted to bet every Saturday college football game? How about every NFL game? Probably everyone reading this has had that desire. But that would be extremely expensive if you bet them each as single bets. And off the board, you can only do 8 teams at a time. But how about those parlay cards that are right next to you as you looking up at the board. Wow, they have all the games and you can bet up to 15 games and it will cost a minimum of 2 units. And most of the time, the 15 team parlay pays 25,000 units to every unit bet. Now that is a nice payout for only $2! Now, lets not get carried away. A 15 team parlay is damn near impossible to hit. But in actually, it is a very fun bet. How much fun can you have on a Sunday when you know you have action on every game for a measly $2! In actuality for the entire weekend, you could have action on 45 games for a minimal $6. It is a fun bet that you can do for the entire weekend and not lose your paycheck over! The only thing you lose out on is maybe a McDonald’s value meal. And you never know, you may actually cash in your ticket someday.

From The Nose Bleed Section:

Thoughts and questions to ponder:

How about those Detroit Lions? Not only did they beat the then undefeated Falcons, they won their second game in a row on the road! They are 3-1 and are at home this week against the suddenly crappy Packers. After week 6, the Lions may actually be 4-1. Who would have thought that?

The New England Patriots won their 19th game in a row. Congrats to them! But most of the people who watched that Pats/Dolphins game watched the Dolphins at the one foot line not score a point in the last minutes of the game. The touchdown wouldn’t have won the game for the Dolphins, but it would have covered the spread! Not only did they not cover the spread but on back to back plays, they lost both their QB’s to injuries.

Are the Rams firing on all cylinders now or did the Seahawks get too cocky in the 4th quarter of their game?

Should the San Francisco 49ers run a no huddle offense? Tim Rattay threw for 420 yards and brought them back from a 16 point deficit in 5 minutes.

Our free picks went 5-3 last week raising our season record to 21-18-1.

College Free Picks:

Wisconsin 6.5 @ Purdue

The Badgers have only allowed two offensive touchdowns this year. If they can muster up some points they might just win this game outright. Look for Purdue to struggle to score points similar to the Penn State game.

Utah/North Carolina OVER 58

Utah should be able to move the ball at will against the poor Tar Heel defense. Look for the Utah to put up at least 40 points this week. The Tar Heels will counter with a passing attack that will do some damage and score 14 points alone in the 4th quarter as Utah relaxes their defense and lets this game go flying over.

Virginia @ Florida State –3

The Seminoles are 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS against the Cavaliers since joining the ACC. With the home crowd behind them they should be able to beat a very good Virginia team.

NFL Free Picks:

Minnesota -3.5 @ New Orleans

The Saints are struggling right now. They have lost to the Cardinals and the Bucs in consecutive weeks giving each team their first wins of the year. The Cardinals destroyed them and the Bucs held off a late charge by the Saints for the victory. They are in big trouble right now especially with the Vikings coming to town this week. The Vikings almost gave the game away last week against the Texans but their offense was too much in OT as they ended up winning it on a 50-yard TD pass. Culpepper is on fire right now and there hasn’t been a team able to shut down him or Moss. Who needs a running game when you have Culpepper as hot as he is. Look for Culpepper to stay on fire and rip apart the hapless Saints.

Green Bay @ Detroit –2

Who would have thought it? The Detroit Lions are 3-1 and the Packers are 1-4. Another shocker is that the Lions have won 2 in a row on the road and the Packers have lost 3 in a row at home. Now, Detroit is back at home playing in the dome. This could be trouble for the Packers. One place Favre struggles is in domes. With the Packers struggling miserably right now, this might not be a good week for the Packers. Farve is hurting and playing in a dome has been his nemesis his whole career. The Packers are going to struggle in this game. They will try and stay close but in the end the Lions will show everyone around the league that they are for real. Look for the Lions to win this week and up their record to 4-1.

Tampa Bay @ St. Louis –6

The Rams look like they have finally found their offense. The Bucs won their first game last week. Both teams are going to be fired up with both of them coming off wins. The Bucs though beat the Saints while the Rams came from behind and beat the Seahawks at Seattle. Look for the Rams to continue with their greatest show on turf this week with an easy win over the Bucs.
