Trends for Week 3

NFL Kansas City is 12-0 ATS in game 3 and 17-4 ATS in weeks 1-3 as Home Favorite. This includes that horrible showing against the Panthers.

Baltimore is 11-1 ATS in the 2nd game against the Bengals.

Oakland Raiders TOTAL has been Over 6-1 home against non-conference opponents.

New Orleans is 4-1 ATS on first road game and 5-1 ATS after back to back home games.

College

NC State is 9-0 ATS as an away DOG under Amato.

San Jose State and SMU average combined score has been 47 points.

The home team in the Texas and Rice series is 8-2 ATS.

Damn, what a crappy week for our guaranteed picks. We went 4-6, which is not going to help the sales of our weekly packages. We work for free this week because we did not win 60% of our guaranteed games. It is only free for the people that bought last weeks package so don’t get too excited.

I have an idea, all you free pick mongers that went 6-0 off of us last week now have enough cash to spend ($20) for our guaranteed picks. SO get your --- over to our site and show us some love. Just kidding, hell this is the nosebleed section I can write whatever I want. I just hope our editor does not delete this section.

Did you know that VA TECH let Duke score the back door cover on a 4th and 11 play? That’s right, 4th and 11 from the 35 Duke tosses the pigskin into the end zone with 44 seconds left as I tossed my lunch into the toilet. Damn Hokies!
Can someone please tell Coach Tice to throw the ball to Randy in the red-zone. Yes, we had the OVER and the Vikings left over 14 points on the field. What the hell is he thinking? I can throw the ball up high and Moss would score 3 touchdowns a game. The man can not be covered in the redzone. THROW IT UP HIGH IN THE AIR, flag or touchdown is much better than what you are doing now.

Did I tell you that our Free Picks went 6-0? Who the hell is picking these games? Why didn’t we have those free picks in our guarantee pick section and drop the losers into our FREE SECTION? Perhaps it’s because we love the subscribers of Thehooks Book more than our paying customers? No, that’s not it. I will search for that answer this weekend.

Invest wisely this week, all jokes a side, our free picks are just that, our free picks. They would not be free if they were our top picks. Have a great football weekend.

We still do not want to disturb the football gods by bragging so we will just say that we are ranked very high at the National Sports Monitor and the Ultimate Handicapping Challenge sites. Shit that was last week. Took a stumble in college but still ranked high in the NFL. You can always go there and see our guaranteed picks after the games have started.

Our 4-Hook plays are 5-2 so far this season. Our guaranteed picks are 15-10 for the year.

Free picks 12-6 so far during the regular season. It helps that we went 6-0 last week. Too bad our guaranteed picks did not do as well.

College Free picks

Nevada +14.5 @ San Diego State

What are we thinking taking Nevada against the Aztecs? Yes the same team that should have beaten Michigan in the Big House will struggle this week against an average Nevada team. This is a sandwich game for San Diego State, they just lost their hearts in Michigan and their eyes are on UCLA, their next opponent. In comes Nevada and easily covers the points.

USC –22 @ Stanford

USC will destroy Stanford for one reason. They remember last year the game that cost them the outright championship was the PAC-Ten opener against California. They will be focused and will only get better every week as the offense begins to click.

Texas Tech –7 @ Kansas

Texas Tech is 3-1 ATS in BIG 12 play against the Jayhawks and 8-3-1 ATS in their conference opener. The main reason we like them is that the offense finally clicked last week. It is just the beginning.

Texas Tech/Kansas Over 65.5

We told you to store the information from week one when they scored in the closing seconds against SMU. Well pull out the info and get ready for some 56-35 games because the stats are now turning into points. The system is alive and kicking down in Lubbock.

NFL Free Picks

Cleveland/N.Y. Giants Under 37

Neither Cleveland nor the Giants have scored 37 points as a team combined this year! The Giants scored 20 points last week and the Redskins turned the ball over 7 times. How can you only score 20 points when a team gives you the ball an extra 7 times? The Browns put up a smooth 12 points last week against the Cowboys. Garcia looked horrible and I don’t see much of a change this week. Both teams will move the ball but won’t put up points. Look for this game to go under 37. This game should be in the low 30’s.

Jacksonville/Tennessee Under 35.5

Defenses will win this game for either team. Both teams have solid defenses and pretty good offenses. But in this game, the defenses will outshine the offenses. Jags rushing D is tough and will stop the Titans rushing game. The Jags rely on their rushing attack but the Titans will slow that down. Look for this game to be a great defensive battle and the team with the most field goals will win this game. This game should be an easy under!

Cleveland +3 @ Giants

The Browns can’t score a touchdown to save their lives…oh wait, either can the Giants. The Giants scored 20 points last week and the Browns scored 12. The Browns will come out and throw on the Giants though. The Giants won’t be able to stop Garcia from throwing the ball and getting the ball down the field. Giants can stop the Browns running game but not the passing. Lets not get overwhelmed here and say the game is going to be a blow out but the Browns should be able to pull out a victory in N.Y by passing the ball.

Philadelphia –4.5 @ Detroit

The Eagles travel to Detroit this week and look to start off the season 3-0. The Lions are waiting for the Eagles and look to run their record to 3-0 as well. Two unbeaten teams meeting in Detroit this week…who thought we would ever here that! The Lions will be over their heads this week against the powerful Eagles. The Lions have played the Texans and the Bears. Not the strongest teams in the league. The Eagles know not to overlook the Lions this year and will come out and play their game and come out of Detroit with a victory and a record of 3-0.
