Quote of the Week:

"I've learned the lesson that the worst thing that can happen to a gambler is to let his recent losses or wins knock him off keel emotionally." - Andrew Beyer

Two Team Teaser

One of the better bets in football is the 6 point two team teaser. This is where you can bet on two teams and add 6 points to your cause. You would have to lay –120, which is a little higher than the regular –110. So if you want to win $100 you would have to bet $120. You must win both games to win the bet.

Best-case scenario would be to pick two favorites to win outright. Say if they were a 6 to 8 points favorite then you would tease them down 6 points to win by 1-2 points or a pick. Or you could tease a dog up 6 points to get over 2 touchdowns.

When placing the bet, do not ever go from positive to negative or negative to positive. Take for example last week; you would not want to move the Raiders from –3 to +3 points or Green Bay –4 points to +2 points.

So if you can find two games that you really like, instead of the two-team parlay, consider the 6 point two team teaser. A teaser to look at this week could be: Minnesota –1 and the Eagle –1 paired together or throw in Denver at a pick. If you like two of these teams just to win then throw them on a teaser.

From The Nose Bleed Section:

Thoughts and Ponders for the week:

-Will anyone beat the Pats? This could be the week. The Steelers are rested and at home. Look out Pats; your winning streak might end this week.

-Speaking of the Steelers, has anyone noticed that Jerome Bettis, AKA “THE BUS” has 7 touchdowns and like 10 yards rushing all year? He is like the designated hitter for football. If the ball gets to the 1-yard line, you bring in the bus. You would think defenses would figure that one out!

-Hey, the Dolphins won last week. They were the last team to win a game this year. Will they win their remaining games? Some people in Miami think they will. Prediction: They will win all the rest of their games till they get to December because when December comes around, the Dolphins choke and lose.

-PRIME TIME, PRIME TIME! Deion Sanders had two interceptions last week and returned one for a TD. Did you hear what he told his teammates before the game? “When I score let me dance before you come congratulate me.” Hey, it’s Soul Train all over again. LOVE, PEACE, AND SOUL!

Enjoy the games this week; there are some good ones!

Just The Facts:

We fell this past weekend and we have to pick up the slack this weekend. We lost some games that we should have won but that is going to happen and now we must make a move now to right the ship.

We are in 40th place for NFL Picks at the National Sports Monitor.

We are in 7th in the NFL Total OVER/UNDER plays with a 10-4 (71%) mark at the National Sports Monitor.

We are struggling at the Hilton Super NFL Contest with a 17-18 record. If we can go 20-10 over the next 6 weeks we should be in the running for the money. Hell, we need a 5-0 week to kick start our push to the top 20.

Our free picks went 4-4 last week putting our season record to 30-23-1. (57%)

College Free Picks:

West Virginia -14.5 @ Rutgers

They just keep winning without a lot of flash but they win. The last 3 years the combined score has been West Virginia 154 to Rutgers 26. The Mountaineers cannot afford a slip up and will take it to Rutgers this weekend.

Army –2.5 @ East Carolina

Army will run all day on the weak defensive line of East Carolina. They are feeling it in West Point and should win their 3rd straight game this week. East Carolina is a mess right now on the defensive side and their offense is not good enough to keep pace with the Knights.

Oklahoma @ Oklahoma State +12

Time to see if Texas A&M caught the Cowboys off guard or if we have rated this team too high this year. They were blown out last year but historically have given the Sooners all they want and we expect that to be the case this weekend. Take the points and root for the Cowboys to throw a wrench in the BCS polls.

NFL Free Picks

Baltimore @ Philadelphia –7.5

This game was made in the off-season with Terrell Owens. He was a Raven at one point this summer but didn’t like and pulled some B.S. and got his wish to go to the Eagles. This didn’t set well with the Ravens, especially Ray Lewis. That is not a man you want to piss off. The Eagles are flying high right now and McNabb loves every minute of it. The Eagles just look like they are having fun, which is a key ingredient in winning. The Ravens are without Jamal Lewis this week again and it will hurt them this week. The Ravens will need a running game this week to help them try and knock off the undefeated Eagles. Unfortunately, it will not happen this week no matter how much the Ravens and their fans want it. The Eagles will win once again this week by a double-digit margin.

Philadelphia/Baltimore OVER 38

This is a low total for an Eagles game but it is sort of high for a Ravens game. Without Jamal Lewis, the Ravens have trouble scoring. Hey look at last week, Prime Time Deion Sanders had to score. The Eagles on the other hand have no trouble scoring. Usually when two teams meet like this, points fly all over the board. Look for this game to go over. If the Ravens aren’t careful, the Eagles could score the over on their own.

Detroit/Dallas OVER 41

Parcel’s teams are known for their defense but they lack that this year. The Lions are just winning games. Maybe they figured if they put touchdowns up instead of fumbles and interceptions they would win games. Well, they were right. Dallas is falling in the wrong direction real fast. They are no longer the defensive team they were last year. They realize if they score 17 points they will not win this year. They realize they have to score in the 20’s to win. Both these teams know whoever has more points at the end of the game wins…Look for the over in this one!
