Stat of the Week:

USC is 25-0 ATS under Coach Carroll when they score over 40 points in a game.

USC Trojans

We have been sending one of our guaranteed picks to the Reno Gazette Journal to compete in their Handicapping Contest. We are currently 3-0 in these picks.

Since the readers of Reno have been enjoying the information for free we thought that we would send this out to Thehooks Book customers once in a while.

College 4 Hook
USC -21 @ Oregon

The Trojans look unstoppable right now. USC has not played anyone yet but the system is clicking on all cylinders. They have scored 63 and 70 points in the first two games of the season. It is scary when you consider that Oregon just gave up 34 to Fresno State and really did need some breaks to get the win last week.

Oregon will have no answer for the Trojans and the pace of the game will crack the Ducks defense. Oregon might be able to keep pace for a while but eventually the Trojan defense will make a few stops and the lead will leap from 7 points to 28 points in no time.

USC is now 25-0 ATS when scoring over 40 points under Coach Carroll. I don't see the Ducks defense keeping them under 50 so I will stay with the trend and take the Trojans -21 points.

Dr. D’s Thoughts And Ponders

This is Dr. D signing in for Thehooks book from thehooksfootballpicks.com giving you the thoughts and ponders from the past week in football.

What is happening to Oklahoma? They are now 1-2 and out of the AP Poll Top 25. When was the last time you didn’t see Oklahoma in the top 25? They are becoming just like Nebraska. Nothing against Nebraska but once they fell out of the top 25 a few years ago, have they even been close to climbing back in?

Oklahoma is the Baltimore Ravens of college. Let me rephrase that: Oklahoma’s offense is the Baltimore Ravens’ offense of college football. A strong running game and a passing game that rivals something seen on peewee football fields. The only game they won was a game they didn’t complete a pass in the second half? Are you kidding me? No wonder Peterson is struggling to run the ball this year. Oklahoma is young at the QB and WR spots so give them a few years maybe. But then again, we’ve been saying the same thing about Boller for the past couple of years…and he hasn’t done anything.

How good is USC? They scored at will against Arkansas. Even their second and third strings scored at will. That’s frightening to think that even second and third stringers on a college football team could actually be drafted in the first few rounds and actually be starters right away.

People are saying this game against Oregon is the biggest test this USC team has had in a while. Maybe it’s true but wasn’t the national championship game last year supposed to be a challenge too? What was the final score in that game?

Oregon will give USC a run for their money but they can’t let the game get out of hand early. Basically, Oregon is going to have to put some type of points on the board every time they touch the ball to keep this game interesting cause you know USC will score non stop.

Can you say choke by the Dallas Cowboys? Didn’t it just make you sick to your stomach watching that?

Culpepper reminds me of Linus from the comic Peanuts right now. Remember when Linus loses his blanket and gets all out of whack and nothing is right with the world, that is what Culpepper looks like without his security blanket Moss.

The other thing we need to do is get an eye test for Culpepper. Maybe he is colorblind and has trouble seeing colors such as purple. That could be the reason Culpepper has thrown 8 interceptions and 0 touchdowns?

Moss vs. Owens. Who is the best WR in the league? They will bump helmets this weekend when the Eagles take on the Raiders! Look for a lot of deep passes thrown in this game.

This is Dr. D signing out from Thehooks book and thehooksfootballpicks.com. This is a great football week with a game last night in Boise, games Thursday night, Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday, then the Monday night game and even a game on Tuesday. That’s a week of non-stop football. You might have to buy your wives something pretty to get away with watching football till Tuesday!

Just The Facts:

We submit all our picks to the National Sports Monitor. Sometimes they do not have all our lines but you will find the percentage we have on our site and on their site almost identical.

We submit our TOP plays to the Ultimate Handicapping Challenge and you will only find our top plays there.

We submit most of the picks to Gurutracker but if the lines are different than the National Sports Monitor we will not submit the picks. Percentage should be close.

With that said we are in the top 5 in college and somewhere half buried in the NFL so far.
