Stat of the Week:

Our picks submitted to the Reno Gazette Journal are a perfect 5-0 ATS. This is the same pick that we have started giving you a couple of weeks ago.

Yes that is the same message from last week; we jinxed ourselves by stating the above and now sit 5-1.

NEVADA/LA TECH OVER 57.5

Since the readers of Reno have been enjoying the information for free we thought that we would send this out to Thehooks Book customers once in a while.

Dr. D's Thoughts And Ponders

This is Dr. D. signing in from Thehooks book bringing you the best and the worst from the football field over the past week.

Alex Smith and the Niners. Why would you bring in your rookie quarterback this early in the season? Are you giving up on the season already? Now granted we all knew he’d be the starter by some point in the season but nobody thought by week 5! Plus you want his first 3 games to be against the defenses of Indy, Tampa Bay and Washington. By the time this kid plays a team with a soft defense, his confidence will be nonexistent. Sit him down till week 10. Give the kid a chance!

How bout’ them Cowboys! They embarrassed the Eagles last week. Are the Cowboys that good or are the Eagles trying to be like USC and get themselves down by halftime and see if they can comeback?

Speaking of USC, if they decide not to show up till the 3rd quarter in the Notre Dame game this week, we will have a new number 1 next week.

Texas manhandled Oklahoma last week. Oklahoma fans could say Peterson was gimpy and wasn’t 100% or this game would have been a different story. I think not! It doesn’t matter if Peterson is healthy or not, if you don’t have a passing game, your running game will be nothing. Ask the Ravens how their season is going.

All the undefeated teams in the NFL lost last week except for the Colts. People better respect the Colts’ chances of going all the way this year. It’s scary to think that their offense really hasn’t been clicking on all cylinders yet this year. Once the offense explodes and if their defense continues, the Colts will be laying some serious butt whoopins’!

How about the Northwestern/Wisconsin game last weekend? The halftime speeches by the coaches must have been something along the lines of “If I see you make a defensive play before the final 3 minutes of the game, your scholarship is gone!”

Matt Shaub will be a star quarterback in the NFL within the next 4 years.

Pittsburgh got a little scare on Monday night when Big Ben went down. Luckily for the Steelers he’s ok because I don’t know how much confidence they would have if Charlie Batch was running that offense.

Will anyone stop LT’s streak of consecutive games with a rushing TD? Somebody will eventually but it won’t be the Raiders this week.

How about Portland St. almost beating Boise St. in Boise last weekend?

Game of the week: Notre Dame vs. USC. This could be the week we see USC go down or this could be the week we see USC at their finest. Either this will be a close game and Notre Dame wins, or USC will win in a blowout.

This is Dr. D. signing out from Thehooks book informing you that the best thing about watching TV on the weekend is knowing when the games are over on Saturday, you still have games to watch on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend everybody.

Just The Facts:

We submit all our picks to the National Sports Monitor. Sometimes they do not have all our lines but you will find the percentage we have on our site and on their site almost identical.

We submit our TOP plays to the Ultimate Handicapping Challenge and you will only find our top plays there.

We submit most of the picks to Gurutracker but if the lines are different than the National Sports Monitor we will not submit the picks. Percentage should be close.

With that said, we are ranked #7 at the National Sports Monitor for college football and somewhere in the middle for the NFL so far.
