From The Nose Bleed Section:

Thoughts and Ponders for Week 17:

Congrats to Peyton Manning for his 49th TD pass of the season in their come from behind victory over the Chargers. You would expect nothing less from this year’s MVP.

Even though Manning has the TD record now, if he doesn’t win the Super Bowl, is this considered a failed year?

Speaking of the Mannings, Eli almost won his first game as a pro last week. You know what they say Eli, almost only counts in horseshoes and grenades!

This will be an exciting week 17. There are some games that mean win or go home for a lot of teams. This should be an interesting Sunday!

On Monday night, did anyone else get the feeling of a preseason game?

If your team is already in the playoffs, do you sit your starters or let them play a half or what?

Speaking of which, what about the Steelers vs the Bills? If you’re the Steelers, do you sit your starters? This might be a game you do want to win because nobody wants to see the Bills in the playoffs right now. The Bills are on fire and have a good offense and a championship quality defense. What do you do?

The Packers will be tough to beat in the playoffs. Brett Favre and the playoffs is like beer and pizza...it’s just a good mix!

Will the Vikings win this week and make it in the playoffs, or will they find a way to lose to the Redskins like they did last year against the Cardinals?

Question of the week: If it comes down to the Steelers vs. Patriots for the AFC championship, what quarterback would you rather have on your side? The Rookie or the proven winner?

NFL Free Picks:

New York Jets @ Rams +3

Both teams need to win to get in the playoffs. Lets rephrase that: The Jets win, they are in, the Rams win, they still need some help. The real scary part of this game is if Seattle loses and the Rams win, they will win their division. For how bad of a season it has been for the Rams, they can still win the division at 8-8. Both teams will be playing their hearts out in this game. The turning point is the Rams are playing at home. The Rams should be able to win this outright.

Tennessee/Detroit OVER 45

When you think of defense, the Titans are not the first team that comes to mind. They are in the category of the Chiefs and the Raiders. Detroit should be able to do whatever they want to the defense of the Titans. What makes this an even better over is the Titans do have a solid offense even without Steve McNair. Volek has come in and done a great job. This should actually be a shootout even though it means nothing. In fact, most of the games the Titans have played in the second half of the season have been shootouts. Why should this be any different?
