Kansas/Toledo Over 48

Clint Cochran is the new quarterback at Toledo and played a good game against a very good Iowa State team but had his problems last week against Western Michigan. He now gets the comfort of playing his first home game and should be a big reason this game goes over. Toledo will be able to stretch the field vertically, which will open the underneath routes and screens because last week, Kansas was burned by the mediocre UL Monroe passing attack for 377 yards. Cochran might throw for 500 yards.

Kansas starts a frosh at QB but has a very good running back in Cornish and should be able to move the ball behind a very good offensive line.

Kansas defeated Toledo 63-14 two years ago in Lawrence and now Toledo will be looking for revenge. I don’t know about revenge but I can tell you that Toledo at home is known for it’s high scoring affairs and Friday night will not disappoint the over bettors.

Thoughts and Ponders

Doctor D and Thehooks book welcome you to the latest edition of Thoughts and Ponders.

How bad are the Raiders? The Chargers made the offensive line look like high school students. What do you think the Raven’s defense will do to Brooks this weekend?

Phillip Rivers threw the ball 11 times. That’s it! And they won 27-0. Wonder what it’s like to have L.T. on your team.

I like this Rivers kid though. His comment before the game was great. He said by just starting he had a moral victory because his 4 year old daughter always asked why he stood on the sideline and never had a helmet on. He said just by putting his helmet on, he already was a winner....to his daughter.

Ohio St. proved they are the best team in college football. Notre Dame made a little statement as well.

If you were a betting person and loved betting favorites, this past week in the NFL wasn’t a good week for you.

Some great games in the college ranks this week: LSU vs. Auburn, Florida vs. Tennessee, Notre Dame vs. Michigan, USC vs. Nebraska, Miami vs. Louisville....the list goes on and on. Can you say BBQ and or pizza, some good friends, beer and cornucopia of college football on Saturday?

The Favre-era in Green Bay will be coming to and end sooner than we think. If things keep going like they are going, Rodgers will be starting before you know it.

234 games without being shutout until last week for the Favre led Packers after their beating by the Bears.

Reggie Bush is in full effect gaining 120 total yards last week. Just think what he is going to do the Packers this week?

Think the Texans are upset they didn’t take Bush?

Are you kidding me with the Bills accusing the Patriots of cheating last week? This is the pros not some pick-up back yard B.S.!

How nice is the Arizona Cardinals’ new stadium? Apparently that’s all they needed to get fans to watch their games. So do you think if the Cardinals start losing, the fans will continue to show up?

Little early for this question but who’s going to win the Heisman????

Game of the Week: Even with all the great college games, the game of the week is Washington vs. Dallas. Why you may ask? Revenge game for Dallas after blowing a 13-0 lead with 4 minutes to go plus the Owen’s situation. This is the man who disrespected this crowd more than once his life and now he will be making his home debut. How will they react???

Well folks, the Doctor and Thehooks book are signing out till next week. Enjoy the games this weekend.
