College Football Picks Week 3 Purdue/Minnesota OVER 56 Purdue travels to Minnesota this week to take on the Golden Gophers. This is the first conference game for each team. Both these teams have solid offenses. The passing game for Purdue is outstanding while the running attack of Minnesota is one of the tops in the nation. This should be a power packed game filled with big plays and plenty of points. Purdue really hasn’t come out and destroyed anybody but they have but points up on the board. Minnesota on the other hand, though their opponents are not top-notch schools, has consistently put up 40 or more points each game. This game should be a fun one to watch with points coming in bunches. Take the OVER in this game it should be an easy one.
College Football Picks Week 3 Minnesota 42 Purdue 35 Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. This game looked like a dead UNDER till the pick 6 by Purdue to make it 28-20. Then Minnesota comes down and scores and we still were sweating out the 2-point conversion. If you just look at the score it looked like an easy OVER but if you watched the game, you were sweating it like I was. Hey, it went OVER and that’s all that matters.
College Football Picks Week 3 Louisville –20.5 @ South Florida The Cards travel to Florida this week to take on South Florida. These two teams have been conference foes for years and still are this year, but now they are Big East conference foes. Louisville looks on top of their game after last week’s destruction of Oregon St. 63-27. Their offense looked unstoppable and their defense made some big plays as well. Even the special teams unit got into the action. They got over their mistake rattled first game against Kentucky out of their system in a big way against the Beavers. Louisville knows how important conference games are and have no problem putting up big numbers against teams. South Florida will score but the Card’s defense will make big plays, which will lead to points from the offense. Louisville beat S. Florida last year 41-9 and this year’s team for Louisville may be even better than lasts. Look for the point differential to be about the same as last years. The Cards win this game by 4 TD’s.
College Football Picks Week 3 South Florida 45 Louisville 14 Now if the Chiefs game made you sick to your stomach, this game made you vomit. After last week’s destruction of Oregon St, the Cardinals come out and get it handed to them by South Florida. Louisville was a team some thought could sneak into the national championship game but not anymore. South Florida looked like the 9th ranked team in the nation. Nausea!
College Football Picks Week 3 USC -21.5 @ Oregon The Trojans look unstoppable right now. USC has not played anyone yet but the system is clicking on all cylinders. They have scored 63 and 70 points in the first two games of the season. It is scary when you consider that Oregon just gave up 34 to Fresno State and really did need some breaks to get the win last week. Oregon will have no answer for the Trojans and the pace of the game will crack the Ducks defense. Oregon might be able to keep pace for a while but eventually the Trojan defense will make a few stops and the lead will leap from 7 points to 28 points in no time. USC is now 25-0 ATS when scoring over 40 points under Coach Carroll. I don't see the Ducks defense keeping them under 50 so I will stay with the trend and take the Trojans -21 points.
College Football Picks Week 3 USC 45 - Oregon 13 Okay, I was a bit nervous when it was 13-0 but I knew just like you knew that it was only a matter of time until the Trojans rolled this team. Only the Trojans can stop themselves from scoring. The defense is pretty damn good too. Remember that Oregon has a great offense that will continue to score over 40 a week now that USC is over with.
College Football Picks Week 3 Michigan State/Illinois Over 60 Michigan State looked really good against Notre Dame, but then again they usually do. Stanton is a stud at quarterback and will light up this porous defense of the Illini. Michigan State has scored over 40 points in each game this year. The Illini will be able to move the ball and will score more than enough points to get this game over the 59 points. They have scored over 30 points in both their home games. The past two years this game has hit 63 points, expect at least that much this year. Bet the over and enjoy the offensive show.
College Football Picks Week 3 Michigan State 61 - Illinois 14 Michigan State cranked out 705 yards of total offense with Drew Stanton throwing five touchdown passes. Can you say OUCH!! Stanton is on fire, now the real test is Michigan. Quality road win for the Spartans which should give them confidence that they are able to go on the road and play well in the Big Ten.
College Football Picks Week 3 Notre Dame -13.5 @ Washington The Irish will not be flat after their tough loss at home last week. I like to bet on teams that had great comebacks but fell short in their quest for the victory. This is a great spot for Notre Dame to come in and blow this team out. They beat them by 35 last year in South Bend and I expect the same here in Washington. Washington will stay close for a quarter as they play with emotion because this is the team Willingham was fired from, BUT emotion can only carry you so far. The talent level on the field and on the sidelines clearly favors the Irish.
College Football Picks Week 3 Notre Dame 36 - Washington 17 The Irish did not look great in this win but when you consider that they were coming off the heart breaker from last week and had to travel out west, this was an impressive win. Washington might have put up some numbers but the numbers do not tell the truth, this is a bad team that will struggle to win 4 games this year.
College Football Picks Week 3 New Mexico @UTEP -2.5 New Mexico travels to UTEP this week to take on the Miners. Both teams are coming off victories last week. UTEP was able to squeak out an overtime victory last week against Houston while the Lobos beat New Mexico St. UTEP is a strong team but so is New Mexico. This should be a solid game from start to finish. The home team is the stronger team to bet on in this series. The home team is covering 75% of the time since 1989. UTEP will come out of this game because they do have a little bit stronger of a team and they have the home fans behind them. Look for the home field advantage to help UTEP win the game.
College Football Picks Week 3 UTEP 21 New Mexico St. 13 Not the most exciting game to watch but never the less a victory for UTEP. UTEP coming off a great come from behind victory against Houston the week before looked a little sluggish at first but picked it up and picked up a victory.
