College Football Picks Week 7 VA TECH -10 @ Maryland VA Tech is 8-1 ATS on Thursday nights, all as favorites. They are playing Thursday night and they are favored. This team is not getting the respect that they deserve. They will shut down Maryland and score more than enough points to cover by more than two touchdowns. Maryland has been playing better but the Hokies defense will prove to be too much for Maryland. Vick gets all the pub but it is the defense that makes this team a national contender.
College 4 Hook College Football Picks Week 7 When this team run the table I hope they get their chance against USC or Texas. They have the best defense in my mind and Vick is the real deal. This was a quality win over a decent Maryland team.
College Football Picks Week 7 BYU @ Notre Dame -18.5 BYU travels to Notre Dame this week to take on an Irish team who is a little upset about last week’s last second loss to USC. Notre Dame knows they should have beaten USC last weekend. What a whirlwind of emotion. First they thought they had won, they were going nuts and then they find out there is still time left on the clock and then BOOM! they lose. This is a very upset team right now and so are the fans and they are going to take out their anger on BYU. Not a good day for BYU to show up. Notre Dame wants blood and will expect nothing but a thrashing of BYU. Take the Irish in this one, they will put a hurting on BYU.
College Football Picks Week 7 Notre Dame 49 - BYU 23 BYU kept the game close for a while but in the end the Irish showed everyone they were over the shell shock from a week ago. They threw the ball all over the field against the Cougars. Quinn threw for 467 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Cougars defense was non-existent against this passing assault.
College Football Picks Week 7 Western Michigan @ Bowling Green –24.5 Western Michigan has lost its senior quarterback for the year. They turned to their FR quarterback in their dramatic loss to Ball State two weeks ago, 5 overtimes in the game. They had used Robbie Hass at first since the injury but now have gone with the freshmen Miller. This will be the first road game for the freshmen quarterback. This will be a tough spot for the youngster because he will have to match the offensive firepower of Jacobs and Company. To make matters worse, Bowling Green has only allowed 1 touchdown in each of the last 3 games. Western Michigan is playing with 8 true redshirt freshmen on the defensive side. This unit has its work cut out trying to contain the explosive offense of the Falcons. Bowling Green is 2-0 ATS this year at home while outscoring the teams 108 - 21. They are a more confident team at home and have righted the ship since their poor performance at Boise State. The Falcons have committed to playing an up tempo game since their loss at Boise. We won with Bowling Green when we had them as our Lock of the Week against Temple (70-7) and we will go with them this week as one of our top plays. Bowling Green has struggled on the road this year and that is the reason the line is under 30 this week. They will score at will this week and force the freshmen QB into several turnovers, giving the explosive offense a short field to work with. Look out; it could be 49-0 at half just like last year.
College Football Picks Week 7 Bowling Green 14 - Western Michigan 45 Bowling was up 6-0 (missed xp) and at midfield when Jacobson was drilled and the ball was returned 53 yards for a Western Michigan touchdown. Jacobson was done for the game and so was our chance to cover. It does surprise me that the defense of Bowling Green did not suck it up and lead them to a victory, although it would have never been by 25 points.
College Football Picks Week 7 Arkansas @ Georgia –19.5 Georgia comes home after 3 road games and gets a chance to flex its muscles against a one dimensional offensive team. Arkansas is one of the better running teams in the SEC, unfortunately for them the Bulldogs have one of the best Defenses in the nation. Arkansas will play musical chairs with the quarterback position because whoever they put behind the center will have a long day. Schokey will dominate this game and probably be responsible for 6 touchdowns through the air and ground. Georgia big this weekend.
College Football Picks Week 7 Georgia 23 - Arkansas 20 Game was going accordingly to plan until another quarterback that I counted on gets hurt. I hope he can come back so Georgia has a chance to run the table. Give Arkansas credit, they moved the ball better than I thought they would.
College Football Picks Week 7 Washington St. @ Cal -11.5 Washington St. travels to Northern California this week to take on the Bears. Washington St. is coming off an overtime loss to UCLA, a game they should have won. Cal on the other hand, was beaten at home by Oregon St. That’s back to back losses for Cal after losing to UCLA two weeks ago. This team, which was supposed to challenge as a top team in the PAC-10, has slipped incredibly the last few weeks. One more loss and you can forget about Cal. The Bears won’t let that happen this week against the Cougars. Cal will come out and put a hurting on the Cougars just to prove to everyone they still are a top notch team in the PAC-10. Ok, let me rephrase that: When was the last time you saw a half way decent Nebraska team give up this many points? Nebraska got themselves down in a hurry and fought their way back to tie it at halftime, but I think they played too hard in the first half just to get it back to even; they had nothing left in the tanks for the second half. They tried and tried but in the end, Missouri had more in the tank at the end and won it easily.
College Football Picks Week 7 Nebraska +2.5 @ Missouri The Cornhuskers travel to Missouri this week to take on the Tigers. Both teams are coming off wins last week and for the most part, both teams are playing quite well this year. In fact, both teams are a surprise to quite a few people this year. This is the game to see who deserves to be considered a contender and who is just a surprise team. Nebraska has played solid ball all year even in their loss; they played tough till the end. Missouri has been up and down in play at times and that will hurt them in this game. This game will be a game of consistency. Nebraska has had more consistency this year than the Tigers have. Consistency will win this game. Take Nebraska as underdogs.
