I was very excited to get this business going in 2004 and when I told one of my friends about the business adventure that we were going on her response was; what are you going to call yourself, the three dumb asses who don't know shit?
I was floored that she would say something like that and my reply was; hey I know my football and so do the other two handicappers. She laughed and replied that she was talking about the internet and all the computer mumbo jumbo that people had to know when putting up a web site.
You know what? She was right, no not that we are three dumb asses who don't know shit about football but we are three dumb asses who don't know shit about computers and the internet.
We were clueless about FTP, HTML, Banner, Codes, ETC, ETC. Hell last year we bought another site for a football pool and we could not figure out how to upload and view the pages on the internet. It was a waste of money. If you don't believe me the site was www.thehooksfootballpool.com and we never posted a pick because we had no idea how. We still to this day do not know how.
So how did we get this site up and running? It was easy and it still is easy. We use Site Build It and they do all the Mega Tag, Search engine submission, html coding, etc, etc, for us. We still are three dumb asses who don't know shit.
BUTWe know football and Site Build It has helped us to be ranked in the Top Spot for the main keyword - Guaranteed Football Picks - in Yahoo/Google/MSN and on AOL in less than one year. And NO we are not using Pay Per Click to get these results. We were spidered and indexed because we did what Site Build It suggested.
Our site is not fancy and will probably never win an award but it is clean and you can navigate from one page to another without getting lost or eyes burned with crazy colors and banners. We are proud that our site is, well, our site. But it would never have happened without Site Build It.
